At first there appeared to be nothing out of the ordinary about this bone. But this bone turned out to be rather special.
What Dr Mary Schweitzer was looking at when she placed the slide under the microscope had never been seen before. Staring back at her was something that shouldn’t have been there. Fresh dinosaur soft tissue!
This discovery was astonishing because soft tissue in bones cannot last more than 100 thousand years. This researcher had just proven that dinosaurs did not go extinct 65 million years ago!
