Discuss whether the Golden Mean agrees with what your religion teaches.
AGREEMENT
Christianity affirms moderation and self-control.
Prudence, temperance, and humility all involve avoiding destructive extremes.
“For the grace of God… teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives.” — Titus 2:11–12
DISAGREEMENT
Christianity calls for radical love and sacrifice.
We are told to love God with all our being, love our enemy,
lay down our life for others, and to give generously.
“If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other also” — Matthew 5:39

For Christians, balance is helpful but is not the highest goal.
The ultimate aim is love and obedience to God, which can call for radical generosity, forgiveness, or sacrifice.
The Golden Mean is a guide for wise living,
but Christ is the final authority.
